Koi fish under a single flower in a koi pond

1. You go to an Aquarium and your first thought is, “I can do better than that.”

You did, however, request a tour of the filtration system and pump house. You may have taken a few photos of them.

2. You test your tap water’s pH values and dissolved O2 concentrations before drinking it.

Clean water is healthy water. It’s also good for maintaining your slime coat. And it does wonders for your body conformation.

Drawing of a raccoon
Nope. Still not cute.

3. You have no love of big birds, raccoons, snakes or other forms of encroaching wildlife.

You just don’t like them. Even in Disney movies. Besides eating your trash and fouling your windshield, they just don’t seem trustworthy.

4. You look at your back yard and say to yourself “It’d be great if there was something there so I didn’t have to mow the grass.”

You were more of an Aquaman fan than Poison Ivy person when you were growing up, anyway.

5. You have become increasingly worried about bathtub predators since Spring started.

It is why you have ditched the fairy lights and are deciding between the lilies and lotus. You are, however, sold on the horsetail.

6. You’ve declared war on all algae. Everywhere.

It’s green. It’s gross. And it’s really hard to remove.

7. You don’t know what Aeromonas is but you’re pretty sure it’s not something you like.

It’s got a scientific sounding name. It usually means bad news. And you don’t need any of that.

8. You don’t feel that your utility bills are high enough.

Both your water and electricity bills could use an extra zero each.

9. You’ve recently built a better filter for your coffee maker using 42 feet of PVC piping, a skimmer and anaerobic bacteria.

Along with your tested and treated tap water, your cup of morning Joe has never tasted better. Or been clearer.

10. You think of all those poor koi that are missing out on the pleasure of your company.

Also, when they do finally get to your place, they will need somewhere to stay.

We get more enjoyment out of our koi & goldfish pond than anything we have ever had. Just love to sit out at the Pond and feed the fish in the morning & evening! It is so very relaxing! The Fish are Beautiful & the water sounds awesome!
